Podbrdo, or the Hill of Apparitions, is in Medjugorje. This mountain is where the children first saw Our Lady appear to them in June 1981. People climb Podbrdo, in large numbers, praying the Rosary as they climb up the rocky terrain. An Italian sculptor has designed images of the Rosary which are placed at regular intervals up the mountain route towards a more level area where the Crosses and a Statue of Our Lady are situated. It is part of the pilgrimage to Medjugorje to climb mountains ie Podbrdo and Krizevac. The mountain called Krizevac is much higher than Podbrdo. The other name for Krizevac is Cross Mountain and the same Italian sculptor has designed the Stations of the Cross up the route to the top, to the large white Cross which can be seen from most parts of Medjugorje.
